Alexander McQueen Spring Summer 1999 - Creating an art piece
RCTI 2011
Long live McQueen
Song?
we miss you sir
I would like to run this on a continuous loop. Where i can get this in 720P
The dress is in white TULLE of course and not in white tube. (but we are watching in on RUclips)
FUCKING ICONIC. That's Shalom Harlowe, right? Everything together- perfect.
why is it iconic? just curious
love the art / performance side of this, but what a fugly dress!
this could possibly be the best moment in fashion history
but why?? cant understand what he wanted to show
Best not to search for deeper meanings (there probably aren't any) .........but he captured the zeitgeist (as geniuses often do) ......and ultimately composed an iconic moment in 20th century fashion.
GENIUS ! MISS UOU
Love love the paint dress. goosepumps
Man, if that was UV black light reflective, it would've been even more jaw dropping.
Long Live McQueen!
this is the true reason for new world order
who is the model in this?
shalom harlow
"Adagio from Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major, K. 488: Adagio" Jenö Jandó
he is my biggest inspiration. he was such a genius. the best of a generation. a revolutionary!
one of the greatest moments in fashion
Music anyone??
ésta weá es amazing
"I want to be the purveyor of a certain silhouette or a way of cutting, so that when I am dead and gone people will know that the twenty-first century was started by Alexander McQueen." McQueen was such a creative genius, such beautiful work, R.I.P Lee Alexander, you were the twenty first century <3
the model must have been so flattered and stunned when she was able to do that sdhow!!!!
mdmm she is shalom harlow a well respected supermodel. this scene / performance was in fact unrehearsed and inpromptu. she is genius here perfect to express mcqueens idea.
They are s2 robots from a company called comau, they are usually for welding car body parts, my dad installed and programmed them, and pressed the 'go' button on the night.
ironbutton666 wow
wut. who are you
this made me cry when i first saw this
so beautiful!
@fre951 no she wasn't!!!!
Cool marriage of science and fashion.
@keitho300 I'm sorry but Alexander McQueen is one of the most important figures in fashion history. What he made was not just regular clothes it's art. I don't know how anyone would have thought what he did when he directed his shows
No idea what the big deal is here, can someone enlighten me?
gay or straight? as if being gay jeopardizes the notion of genius or something?
Can any body tell me what kind of robots are these? please
Did you know she was a double amputee??
Mozart K.488 Piano Concerto #23 in A 2nd mov. Adagio There you go the song
Thumbs up if HOLD IT AGAINST ME by Britney Spears brought you here
And at some point, the curiosity switched, and it became slightly more aggressive and frenetic and engaged on their part. And an agenda became solidified somehow. And my relationship with them shifted at that moment because I started to lose control over my own experience, and they were taking over. So they began to spray and paint and create this futuristic design on this very simple dress. -Shalom Harlow
: I walked right up to it and stood on top of this circular platform. And as soon as I gained my footing, the circular platform started a slow, steady rotation. And it was almost like the mechanical robots were stretching and moving their parts after an extended period of slumber. And as they sort of gained consciousness, they recognized that there was another presence amongst them, and that was myself. - Shalom Harlow on the finale
Could anyone PLEASE tell me the name of the song (the one with the wolfs and the snow/air sound) I saw the New York exibit and it reminds me of it :D
This piece is amazing. PS: Cobie Smulders?
ART!
today I saw the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Met in NYC. It was phenomenal...the set they created to showcase all the clothing...the lighting...the music...a perfect homage. Seeing some of these items up close, I just shook my head, marveling at the detail, creativity and sheer beauty. We also saw videos of some of his shows, including this famous painted dress, the chess game, and then looking through a glass window, we got to see the Kate Moss hologram with music. It brought tears! RIP
Yes the model sprayed by the robots was Shalom Harlow.
RIP Alexander McQueen, thank you for all you gave the world, so sorry and sad that it couldn't have been a kinder, happier place for you.
this has to be one of the most brilliant ways of presenting such an art piece R.I.P. McQueen this will always be one of my favorite runway presentations!
does someone know the name of the song? please :) RIP McQueen !!!
it is amazing
she ok?
